Ostrich Fishin'

Yup... fishing for ostriches.  Orange slices at the end of a fishing pole - hours of entertainment.

Throughout the tour, the guide told us all about ostriches & the area.  We got to pass around a couple of eggs, ostrich skin wallet, cactus thorns, and this guy - the rattle snake.  He wasn't alive, but Chason was still brave enough to pet him - not Mom (no way).

Not sure if you can see it, but the little lanyards they gave us say "Wish me luck cause I am going to take on the monster".  And we did - we survived, but were all quite a bit dustier than before.

MONSTER TRUCK!!!!

Chason was so excited to ride in the big monster truck.  They drove us all over the desert & jumped a bunch of... ??? bumps/hills.  We were bouncing all over the place - Chason just giggled the whole time!!!

Goat Penthouse???

WT_????  This is so crazy - but they had 4 or 5 goats in a cage way up on stilts.  You could put food in a container on the conveyer belt & roll it up to them.  Chason wanted to feed these guys all day - he liked wheeling the conveyer belt thingy.

More goats

Here are a few more goat picts.  Some of them were so excited, they'd try to crawl out.  And some holes had 2 goat heads.

Feeding the goats

This was soooo hilarious.  The goats stick their heads out these holes & you can feed them.  There was even a sign that said to hold the food just out of their reach & watch them beg.  They would too - it looked like they were talking because their mouths would open & close - wanting the food.  And if you got too close, they'd take a bite of whatever they could reach.    

Birds

These beautiful birds were so fun to feed.  They land all over you. 

Turtle ride

There was a cool old turtle in with the birds.  One of the employees asked if Chason wanted to ride him.  I thought he was kidding - but he just put him on there & the turtle carried him around.  It was so cool.

Rooster Cogburn Ostrich Ranch

On our way back up to visit Great Grandma Charlotte, Grandpa & Grann-o surprised Chason with a stop at an ostrich farm.  The birds were HUGE!!!  But the place had all kinds of other animals to pet & feed - as well as the biggest attraction & the best part of Chason's vacation... you'll see.

Pump Handle

Grandpa Lon was teaching Chason the "Pump Handle" wrestling move to try on Dad when he got home.  The bunny got in on the action too.  This day of our vacation Grandpa & Chason played at the park all day, while Grann-o Janny & I went shopping (thanks Dad!). 

Local wildlife

Dad & Jan have this bunny that comes by everyday & eats the bird feed.  He is pretty tame & will usually comes inside the fence.  They have a ton of different kind of birds around their yard too - it was awesome just sitting there watching all of them.

Grandpa Lon filled up a little pool for Chason to play in.  He spent more time getting us all wet, but we had fun.

Great Grandma Charlotte

We surprised Chason's Great Grandma in Casa Grande. He loved going for rides on her walker. I think we wore out the elevators.
