It's official

Friday, June 22, 2012, Chason Christopher Rangitsch became a BIG BOY - he went "pee on the potty"!!!! YEAH!!!!! We had to resort to bribery - which we've heard isn't all that uncommon. He got stickers for doin the deed & decorated his potty. We were all so proud of him!

Alaska beauty

You probably can't see the bears very well in this picture, but thought it turned out cool the way the sun is hitting them.

Russian River

For our 13th wedding Anniversary (well a couple days later) we ran down to the Russian River after work for some combat fishing. We shared the river with a large sow & her two cubs all night. The 2 year old cubs got within a few yards of us when they peeked over the ridge at us fishing in the river. But then they crossed the river & played far away from us the rest of the night. It was pretty amazing! The fishing was super slow, but we had a great time. My mom came in & stayed with Chason - thanks Granny Barb!!

Bug bites

After our fun at the picnic & baseball game, this is the result.  Poor buggar's eye was pretty swollen for a few days.

Check out Chason's throw

Baseball game

After the picnic we ran over to watch our friends kids play baseball, but it turned out their little girl (Trinity - in the pink) was more interested in playing with Chason. She's so good with him & I think he's crushing on her! It's pretty cute.

The mechanical salmon

Yup - like a mechanical bull, but it's a salmon. Chason wanted to ride it so bad, so we wait in line for 30 minutes &, well you'll see what happens.

Life flight

Providence's life flight helicopter landed in the park & Chason got to see it up close. He was so excited!

Smooooch!!

Providence Employee Picnic

We went to my works annual picnic & really had a great time! We ate burgers, hot dogs, fruit, & snow cones. They had bouncy houses, a climbing wall, face painting & lots more. Chason wanted Tow Mater painted on his face - the lady did a great job!

Playing in the yard

We've had a beautiful summer this year.  Chason likes playing in his little swimming pool.  We didn't make it down to the Copper River with Dad this year, but it was probably a good thing - sounded like it was quite the trip.  Shawn, Antone, Soren, Tuomo, & his boys & James took off Thursday (6/7/12) afternoon / evening & caught their limit in a few hours & were back Friday evening.  So we processed fish all weekend - FUN, FUN!!

A hand-me-down train set

Chason got a train set from a friend of mine whose boys were done with it.  Chason loves it!

Putting the John Deere to work

Doubles??

James wanted in on the action, but it didn't work so well. Chason is a crazy driver!

New toy

One of James's friends gave Chason his son's John Deere riding tractor with trailer.  Chason was so excited!

Memorial Day Weekend

We spent the weekend with our friend Laurie down in Homer Memorial Day weekend & spent only 1 day on the water fishing - which was fine, because the weather was pretty crappy.  We took our friend Tuomo & his kids & neice fishing with us & caught a fair number of halibut.  We also caught an Irish Lord (which we haven't seen in awhile - used to catch them all the time).  Tuomo & I both caught skates too (kinda like sting-rays), but mine was the biggest - of course.  This is a picture of Tuomo's skate.  The one I caught was on one of our small salmon rods, so it was quite the fight.  We were really excited, because we thought it was going to be a big halibut & I had bought a derby ticket that day.  I fought him for about 30 minutes, but it seemed like longer.  When I finally got him to the boat, James couldn't even lift him out of the water because he was so heavy.  James wasn't sure, but he estimated it could have weighed a good 200 pounds or more.

Sorry all :(

We've been so busy & haven't had a lot of time to post any picts for awhile.  We're hoping to get you all caught up soon.  Keep checking.  Luv ya all - J, K, & C

Battery dead?

Chason's little 4-wheeler battery doesn't last very long, so we usually end up pushing him back. James found a push stick. He's now rigged another battery to the front of the machine.

4-wheelin on the beach

Even though the weather was crappy, we still had a great time!

First family camping trip of the summer

May 18th we spent the weekend at Anchor Point campground fishing with friends. It was pretty cold still - don't think they got the memo that Spring / Summer is here!
